Our Story

Welcome to Freakishly Good. I’m Calvin Bowden, the founder and the pastry chef behind the brownies.

My journey didn't start exclusively in the kitchen. Alongside my brother, Garrin, I also work as a filmmaker. Whether we are behind the lens crafting a visual story or in the kitchen developing a new recipe, our philosophy is the same: we believe in the power of creating something extraordinary from scratch.

The idea for Freakishly Good was born out of a simple, shared passion. We love exceptionally yummy baked goods, but we also believe that what you eat should be genuinely good for your body. We wanted to make a difference in the way people snack, proving that you never have to choose between satisfying a craving and eating healthy.

That’s why we set out to create the ultimate treat. Our signature protein brownies are baked using all-natural ingredients sourced locally right here in Cape Town. They are 100% gluten-free, packed with protein, and designed to fuel your day without compromising on taste.

Every batch is made with a pastry chef's precision and a filmmaker's eye for detail, ensuring that every bite is—quite simply—freakishly good.
